This is an important announcement regarding JazZenJourney, Italy, 2026.

​

We have a very special opportunity to attend the famous Palio horse race in beautiful Siena for next year’s JazZenJourney, Italy, a centuries old celebration, during our regular JazZenJourney, Italy week, June 29 - July 6, 2026.  We know you hear it all the time, but this is truly a “Once in a Lifetime” opportunity.

 

On July 1, the evening before the Palio race, we will dine at a restaurant in the Piazza del Campo, Siena, site of the annual event, to witness the colorful pageantry of each competing Contrada.  The Palio race is then on Thursday, July 2 - ten horses and competing bareback riders, dressed in the colors of their Contrada, represent ten of the seventeen Contrade, or city wards, in a tradition dating back to the 17th-century.  This is not just a horse race but a time-honored tradition, rich with the local pride and passion of the Sienese.  Nicolò Strub, owner of San Fedele, where we stay in Tuscany, has arranged for us to view the Palio from the balcony of an elegant apartment above the Piazza in Siena, where we will host a special party with hors d’oeuvres and Prosecco, followed by dinner at a restaurant on the racetrack in the Piazza.  And there will be a full Tuscan moon that week! ​

As always, the week will feature other amazing venues with spectacular views, gourmet dining, great wines, and world class jazz!  There will also be a special Fourth of July celebration with dinner and fireworks at San Fedele!

Space is limited.  Registration will be on a “first come, first serve” basis.
